Welcome to Savvy Dog Sports!

sav·vy – practical knowledge and ability; having common sense and good judgment

It’s been a dream of mine for over 20 years to own my own dog training school! I’ve been involved in dog sports for 30 years, having trained and competed in flyball, conformation, herding, agility, obedience, tracking and Nosework. Dogs have always been a big part of my life and now my passion to train, compete and teach others about dog sports and new training methods!

At Savvy Dog Sports, I want to bring out the very best in each dog/handler team. Using reward-based methods, we can build stronger behaviors by focusing on what we want them to do, instead of what we don’t want them to do. Learning through positive associations is very effective!  We can also achieve the best outcome by blending both the art and science of training. Science is a body of knowledge, where facts and data show us the why. Art allows us to express the how – to be creative, adaptive and think on our feet.

There are so many fun ways to teach new behaviors and build fluency. We will find what motivates your dog and how to stay better connected. Savvy Dog Sports will offer classes in Nosework, Obedience/Rally, Agility, and Puppy Sports Foundations as well as host top trainers from around the world! Stay tuned for more information!
