I’ve had Drac home for a week now! Head over heels in love with him!
I thought I’d share what I’ve trained this week. Well, it might be a short blog! I feel like I just survived with potty schedule and managing the introduction of a new dog!
What I have succeeded in:
- Successful introduction to Savvy on day 1. Outside with puppy on leash. Went really well – both very appropriate and respectful!
- Assessing outside play between both dogs … WOW, was lucky on this one. Savvy seems to be enjoying the little guy!
- Getting puppy to new places and meeting new people. Gold star there :)!
- Napping when puppy naps – I’m a smart mom :)!
- Puppy finding all my loose small items around the house!!
- Some minimal training … “get it”, sit, collar grab, hide and seek (find ‘da face), and especially bonding with personal and toy play!!
Work in progress:
- Getting puppy outside in time for pottying … those few times I put him down just for a sec to check the computer or get laundry out of the dryer and I come back to poop!
- Managing dogs around the house in close quarters around treats and toys.
- Puppy proofing house (see #5 above)
- Getting him to chew on his toys and bones and not EVERYTHING else!
Puppy just ransacked the house as I was finishing this blog … so I must go. Until next time!
Good stuff Julie ? Hang tough!
He’s doing great Julie!! I really like how tuned into you he is without biting your hands like so many pups do. He really seems eager to learn!
Thanx for sharing this blog! Love Drac!
